  • Need Help on Valve Cover Gasket 3.4

I've searched all through the forum and everywhere else, but I CANNOT find a single walkthrough for replacing a valve cover gasket on a 3.4. Maybe I'm searching for the wrong things, I dunno.

Anyway, for anyone who has done it, I'm at the part where I need to take the fuel rail and intake manifold off, and I am stuck. My Chilton's manual isn't very helpful here; it just says remove fuel rail. I don't see how I can get the injectors out and I'm too scared to try to pull really hard on them. From what I can tell, they don't come out easy.

Also, the upper intake manifold itself is stuck on really tight; anyone have any tips on getting it off? I already dented my valve cover slightly trying to pry it off. :( So, anyway, if anyone has any tips or knows of a really good guide, please please help me!

oh boy this is gonna be a nasty expirience for you,,,

first there are 2 bolts to loose the fuel rail then you will need a torxbit #20 to finnish to loose the fuel line a small ratchet will do the job.

if you dammage the torx screw of the fuel line(oh boy)

then you will need to force it out just as i did , i did loose the injectors by prying them out with a long steel bar under the fuel rail then loose them one by one then i got the fuel rail of the car change the torx screw with a bolt ... or send your car to pep boys

Yeah my dad and I finally got it lol, thanks for the help. Luckily we didn't strip the torx, so we're in good shape. Putting it back together though is really gonna suck. :( Thanks again for the tip.

OK, so now I have another problem. To get to the valve cover nut by the firewall on the driver's side I need to remove the smog line, right? I can't find any other way to get to it. Anyone have any tips on this part? Any help is greatly appreciated.
