Like it says, i already read the sticky and im thinknig about seafoaming my car sooner than later...my question is....
would just pouring it in the gas tank and doing the oil treament be worth it?
will i notice a result if any by just doing those two things, or is the top end where all the power is restored? i just dont wanna ruin my engine by doing the top end the wrong way.
1st can used in a half tank. Why? Even though it can treat a full tank I feel an overwhelming ratio of Seafoam will power flush my injectors and keep my fuel lines gunk free. I still wonder if the fuel filter went through a super cleaning as well. I actually ran my tank down to 1.5 gallons of unleaded and added a can for that 98% Seafoam to unleaded fuel ratio. No adverse effects recorded.
2nd can I threw inside the valve cover where you add oil. Reason is you are de-gunking the inside of your motor. Process is to start your motor and idle for 5 minutes. The can should be cleaning the varnish and caked on deposits left by your old oil. Then you drain your old oil for 5 quarts of your favorite oil and filter.
3rd can I added to the brake booster line, the motor should be running and you will feel a vacuum. This is where you SLOWLY drip Seafoam into it and watch how you create a wall of white smoke at the exhaust. Keep in mind not to stall the motor as you apply the Seafoam. The forums will mention your are decarbonizing the cylinders therefore you should be installing six new spark plugs soon afterwards.
4th can went towards a full tank of unleaded AFTER the oil and spark plug change. I actually passed my emissions test with better readings at the exhaust than last years. Plus I gained 6 highway miles per gallon. From 23 to 29 mpg, you can't go wrong. This extra can was overkill but I wanted to treat a full tank for the added benefit.
This was done on a 3.8L motor. My testimonial will vary from yours.

I still haven't done my upper intake yet.... but the Oil, and through the fuel system has been done. My gas milage was 26, almost 27 mpg highway going to Atlantic City a few weeks ago. Its been a month or so since doing it. The only thing I did take notice to was my oil pressure went from being a constant 60, mid way point, to the needle just starting to touch the 6 of 60. I don't know if it cleaned it out so well there is no oil flow restriction or if maybe the pump is starting to go, but it seems to be running fine, so I am not to worried since it still have the pressure that it needs. Can't be any harm in doing the SeaFoaming.... I think it makes for a good preventive maintenance measure.
From what I understand, there is a risk of leaks being discovered if you do the oil treatment. That's the only thing that's been stopping me from doing it: I've got a small leak as it is, and I don't want to find more.
I didnt believe that it work either but believe me it does it made my car run smotther than it ever has very noticable difference would recommend to anyone
Where are the spark plugs located on a 3.8, i plan to change them out myself instead of paying 200+ for labor at the shop (yes.. he charges an assload) after i seafoam it this summer
