I posted yesterday on how I removed my cat and put in a straight pipe. But the SES light has still not come one. I pulled my IAT sensor and ran it just to see if the PCM was still working and when I did the SES light came on, when I replaced it it went out so now I know the PCM is still in working order. I went to the shop where I usually get work done and the guy there is real knowledgable and he said the light should have been on now for a while since all the driving I have done and he has no idea why its not on. There is no feel of power loss. So does anyone else have some input on what could be going on?

I told you yesterday that some have removed the cat without throwing an SES light. You may be one of the lucky ones. I cannot explain why because I don't know!!! There is nothing wrong, and stop complaining or it might come on ;) Why is it bothering you that you haven't gotten the SES light anyway? You should feel lucky, it is saving you $45 you would have to pay for an o2 simm :D97 Red Firebird
Best N/A 1/4: 13.98
Best N/A MPH: 96.13
Best Nitrous 1/4: 12.49
Best Nitrous MPH: 108.53
2001 Pewter Camaro SS
GTP Stage II Heads, Pig Cam, Holley Intake, SLP Headers, SLP Lid, Vigalante 3600 Stall Converter, MagnaFlow Cat Back Exhaust, Duel Electric Cut-Outs
11.26@121

I know i am lucky it isn't comming on. I just like to know the reason why things don't work when they should my mind just works that way. And also the guy that I go to is looking into it cause he's curious also.

I am running open manifold on mine right now and it took a while for the SES light to come on. I figure eventually it will.2002 M5 Bright Metallic Silver
*Fully loaded and modded

2005 GSXR 750
*Micron Serpent Race Exhaust *K&N Filter *Power Commander *Trying to hit 200 MPH!

1970 SS 454 Chevelle Cortez Silver
*It can pass anything but a gas station

although the catalyst efficiency monitor runs pretty quickly, it is possible that you haven't driven a drive cycle where all the conditions for setting the dtc are met.
but like i said, the conditions for the cat eff monitor to run are met pretty early in the drive cycle and you really should be seeing a MIL right now. the pcm should have detected the same amount of O2 in the pre-cat O2S and the post-cat O2S and this should have set the MIL for cat eff monitor failure.
