I just wanted to add that now that I've been driving it more I really notice how cool its running. Usually with the 160 stat it will just climb right up to normal temps unless I'm doing 70 down the freeway - however this is not the case now.

With the 160 stat, 70% water in the coolant, water wetter, and the fan programming, my gauge sits right on the 2 or just below the 2 You really can't beat that... I can pop the hood in town and I can put my hand on the thermostat outgoing hose without burning myself

quote:
yeah, the stock revlimiter was 5800 RPM

Now, I know for sure I've been over 5800 RPMS, at least to 6000. Maybe its the stock tach though. Why do they bother to put the 6000-7000 marks on the tach???

In case you overdownshift and want to see how far that engine went before it went boom

Mine was 5800 though. Driving it you wouldn't know it until you changed it up 200rpm. Hypertech claims the revlimiter on autos is 6,000 and the stock shiftpoints are around 5800 (200rpm swing in between shifts).

I've taken my SS to the stock limiter of 160. That was fun. Nice and smooth too. I still had a lot of gear left. Was still in 5th somewhere. It was still going pretty strong as well. I'd assume it would caome to a hault somewhere in the 180 range? Anyway. That's my story.
