  • SES light...load?

My SES light has never been on before, except when it was adjusting to the IAT sensor override that i added so i could use my homemade CAI. Anyway, i loaded my car up with 16 boxes full of papers, and when i started it up, the service engine light was on. i didn't' notice the car acting weird or anything, and i emptied the boxes out, when i started up the light was still on, but when i shut off and started up again later, the light is off.
    hasn't been on since..

Could the SES light have anything to do with the excessive weight? I don't see how it could but it only came on with the extra weight..

    Re: SES light...load?

It had nothing to do with the weight of the papers. My LHS does that all the time. It will come on and then go off a little while later with no noticeable problems in driveability. Though, after reading up on how bad the gas was around my area and things like that I did some investigating on the car. At times the fuel filter will clog just a little and cause the SES light to come on , then it will free up and it will go off. Also, the cat. converter going out/get clogged slightly will cause it to come on, then go off a little while later if it free's up. If this persists to happen off and on, check your cat. converter, because sometimes it's the early stages of noticing that there is a problem with it.
