found out the mech. said i needed a MAJOR tune up. plugs, wires, the whole 9. did the whole thing for 400, pick my car up today.

Ewwwwwww......$400? You do realize about $280 of that was labor? I guess if you don't have the time then yeah, go ahead and fork out the money for someone else to do it. But seriously, it's easy enough to do an entire tune up on your car for so much less and a short amount of time. The hardest part of the entire thing is changing the spark plugs(due to clearance issues) but once you find a certain technique to going in at the right angle, even that becomes easy in itself.

Glad to hear that your car will be as good as new again, though I'm sorry you had to fork out that kind of money. Feel pleased to know that around here, it costs 50 dollars more at the lowest shop to do a major tuneup on firebird's.

yea, but work close to 12/13 hour days, and i don't have the time to do it myself. 400 seemed reasonable for all the stuff he did. maybe this new cali lifestyle is going too effortlessly...
