160 thermo brand?

Does it matter what brand 160 degree thermostat you use? I know hypertech powerstat is the one most people get. I see it online for like $17. My local autoparts store has a brand of 160 thermo I've never heard of. Their thermo only costs like $2 or $3. Would it be best to order the Hypertech one anyways or wil the cheaper one work the exact same?

I have a hypertech and its great. I dont know much about the cheaper brands. You cant go wrong with hypertech though.

I have been running a "Stant" from Advance Auto Parts for over a year and it does just fine. Less than $5 and 5 minutes and 5 minutes to swap can't hurt you to try it.

I've run both Stant and Hypertech stats, theyre both made by the same company and work great.

Thermo's are very cheap, or should be, so if you want a 160 and find a better deal that actually fits your car go for it. The Hypertech happens to be the most prevelant though, its quality ranks with a Stant Heavy Duty.
