  • Brake Pads

The pads sound like they are going bad. They have started making a squeak, but not consistantly. It does sound like the indicator, though. So, any suggestions on brake pads? The stock ones, or at least the ones on the car now, seem to produce a lot of dust. I would like to avoid that this time. Major performance is not an issue, just decent pads that stop and aren't dust mongers.

If you don't want dust and noise, then go with ceramic pads, they make the least dust and noise from what I've seen, and they stop pretty good. Only thing is that nobody makes rear ceramics that I've seen, so you'd have to run front ceramics and regular rears.

I am currently using CarQuest Ceramic Brake Pads on the front that I bought on ebay for $28 shipped. For the rear I am using PFC Carbon Metallic that I bought at Autozone. They ran me $50, and produce very little dust, great stopping power, and zero noise.
