I just got a 1996 Blue Camaro V6, blown wngine, for $1000. Was thatt a good deal, everything is perfect, i knew the guy before he blew the engine, he yas low on oil, tried to go accross downtown Houston, Texas. And he ran out of oil, conecting rod BLEW threw the block, then a week later he sold it to me, i am going to get a stock V6 engine for it, did i get ripped off?

If it is just the moter I don't think so. That is if you are giong to use it as a daily driver. If you plan on truning it aroung and selling it you will not make that much money on it.

I think thats a pretty nice deal dude. As long as the rest of the car is in really good shape. Blue is a nice color too. Used 3.8s aren't that much money at all. You can def. find a nice one for low miles under a grand. So all in all your probably not going to spend that much money i'd say it's a hell of a deal.

yea, you may want to consider a v8 swap now, and save yourself some hassle in the long run.....

if not, a 3.8 w/ PCM and trans and all that is like a grand, but you just need the engine, so like $600-800 maybe

See i am 14, and a BIG gaerhead, i LOVE to work on engines, my FAVORITE car is the 1969 Pontiac GTO Judge, i would slam a 572 in there, and not put nitrous in it or anything, but i like the camaro, my dad works for Toyota, and someont traded the camaro in a week ago and he called me (because we were looking for a car to fix up and be my first car) as I said before, i am a BIG gearhead, on weekends i race the racing karts, and i am pretty good, but just to say i know about engines, is there a k-member i could put in there so i could put the LT1 in there, and what other changes should i make¿¿¿¿

              All question will be answered.

I'd say do the conversion, buy a tranny and an LT1 with about 175,000 miles on it that you can get cheap, just for the accessories, and stroke and build the engine before you install it in the car. Then again, Id hate to see a good kid kill himself.

tons of stuff, as i said before my dad workd for toyota, and the has been an auto mechanic seince he was 15, (he is now 48) and he says, keep the v6 in there, just do MINOR changes to the car, beause we want a running car, not just a drag car, so i'll probly do a cam swam, timing cain, and the roller cam w/ the roller rocker rms, k&n intake system, and a ne exhaust system, where could i find these parts new?

I would swap since witha bad motor your almost there. If not you could always pick up a really low mileage 3.8l on ebay. You can always get a 2001 motor and swap a few things and install it.
