I have a V6 '01 Camaro with 47k on it. All of the sudden I've been getting this low pitch whine from the rear of my car after I've been driving it for a while (like after driving it around town for the day). Any ideas what this could be???
How many miles are on the tires? Sometimes as the tread wears away, the tires like to whine. My GTA and Firebird have different whines to them. My Firebird's are louder only because I bought a harder rubber compound. Basically 60,000 mile tires. The whine is getting louder as the tread wears away. I'll never get these tires again.
I don't think its the tires cause it makes the noise at a full stop also. The only thing that makes the noise stop is turning off the car.... Acutally, sometimes it will stop if I gun it from a full stop, but then it comes back. It doesn't change at all if I change speeds. Just a constant whine.
what kind of whine is it. Like a metal on metal whine like when your brakes are about to go out. or is it a more electrical whine. And have you added any kind of special stuff to your camaro
Mine whines bad when Im below a 1/4 tank and make right hand turns. Shop said it was my fuel pump.
