ok i was told to get a voltage meter and check my injectors wires to see if they were leaky or stuck all of them came up about 9.2 ohm's except the yellow which its the sixth cylinder it read about 11 ohm's would that be a bad injector? cause i was told my injector should read about 9.2 but in the haines book or whatever it is it say expect 11-14 can anyone tell me if that injector is good or bad thankssss!! I also have a SES light come on for about 5-10 secons and then go off and sometimes it stays on and sometime the abs light comes on after it goes out and i cant scan it because the ses light wont stay on long enought to make it n e where?

Re: running rich maybe injecter???
So is the #6 plug the only one that is black/fouled? If so, sounds like you found your culprit.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

Re: running rich maybe injecter???
voltage? lol he's measuring ohms, the resistance of the injector
<edit> I tested another set of injectors I have here and they came up 11.7 11.9 12.0 12.0 12.1 12.2
So you've actually got 5 that are reading very low and maybe only one that is still good.Last edited by FunkZ; 12-25-2006, 07:49 AM.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

Re: running rich maybe injecter???
The injectors I tested were 3.8 ones. You would think that Haynes would give the specs for both if they were different.
<edit> I just checked performance injector applications and there does not appear to be any distinction made between 3.4 and 3.8 injectors, other than flow rate. Obviously an OEM replacement injector will carry a different part number.
I did read about a test you can try. If the injector resistance is degraded and causing a rich condition you can test by disconnecting the alternator and run the car from the battery only. The reduced voltage output (12v vs. 14.4v) from the PCM results in a smaller amount of fuel being delivered, which can actually bring the injector pulse back into spec.Last edited by FunkZ; 12-25-2006, 09:46 PM.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

Re: running rich maybe injecter???
Just wanted to update you that I tested my stock 3.4 injectors and they are all 11.9 - 12.0 ohms.
Dunno what injector that guy had at Autozone but based on what both my sets are reading I would agree with the Haynes, your injectors are testing low.1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips
