  • Reving problem

I just installed MSD coilpacks, K&N Cold Air Intake, and a 180* thermostat on a 96 camaro 3800...

It runs fine, and revs fine, but once I get to about 4000rpms it stops reving, putters and dies down (doesn't stall just wont rev any higher)

    any ideas please?

As I was told there is a rev-limiter on the 3800.

yea, it must have a rev limiter in park and neutral, but i took it for a spin and got'er up to 5k

                    Re: Reving problem

bring the rev limiter up a few thousand RPM.. it'll race right up to 6,000RPM so fast you'll think it WANTS to blow itself up.

Why would you want to raise your netural rev limiter? Why even rev in netural?

i dunno...it just bugs me when it limits and craps out

i'll prob end up getting a tuner someday anyways

You know, revving your engine isn't all that great for it. I would advise you don't worry about it anymore and quit revving it whenever you feel the urge.
