Not for manual cars...getting up on those with three pedals is a major PITA. Also, ramps make it impossible to do work on your brakes or the rear axle
You could put the car up on ramps and jack up the back end then u got the whole car off the ground and if u wanna work on the back end just jack up the back end if u wanna work on the back end it all depends on what you are doing to the car
and yea with manual it would be tough but my friend did it with his cobra easy up onto my ramps and if ur gonna work on the brakes u only have to jack up the wheel ur working on
I use ramps, and then a floor jack if needed in the rear. I always put stands under it along with wood under each tire before I get under it. And ramps are easy with a 5-speed. I get up on them just fine. I put the jackstands on the subframe frail, so they should be just fine. Put my aluminum DS in with wood blocks and ramps. Backed it up onto the ramps and then put the wood in front of the front tires. I also kept it in gear, along with putting the parking brake on....didn't exactly help the DS install, but I felt safer that way :P

...or you can use a jack and jackstands from the get-go and save time
Your way: set ramps, back car onto ramps, get jack under pumpkin, raise car, place jackstands
easier way: get jack under pumpkin, raise car, set jackstands
if I jack the front do I need to jack the back up as well? Or will It be safe to use wheel chocks on the rear and ramps under the front where the jackstands will be?
you dont have to jack both the front and rear at the same time if you dont need too. Dont really know a good way to jack up both safely(ramps in front and jack stands in back). Then the risk of the car rolling off the front ramps.
