  • 8 gauge stereo wire for plug wires

whats up guys tell me what you think of this. I was talking to a guy that I know about plug wires and he said that if you get some 8 gauge stereo wire and get some spark plug boots for the ends and put them on your car you could easy put up .2 to .3 tenths at the track. It should work because there no resistance in stero wire but it might mess up your radio. What do you guys think??

      I wouldn't think so...

Wire is wire when it comes down to it, the only special thing about spark-plug wires is all the extra insulation to prevent all the electricity moving through them from creating EMI (electro-magnetic interference). I'm not even sure 8g could sustain the power needed...

W T F, I have been drag racing for years and if that did work everyone at the track would have amp wire on the cars. I would just buy some accel or MSD 8.8 wires and call it a day.

Is this the same guy with the 17lb super charger on his mustang and the 200 shot of naws? Sorry theres this kid at my college who talks out his *** like that. I don't even think the motor he says he has in his GT exists. Let alone controling boost on a supercharger without switching pullies.
