Well, went to change my oil, and guess what, the oil nut looked funny. The threads looks all munched. I said forget this and got a new oil nut plug, and it did the same to that. I always knew something was funny with my oil nut, but this was the day it was going down.

My dad ran a tap through the threads and it seemed to clean them. We put the new nut on and it still is leaking oil around the nut. We even put the old washer on from the old damaged drain plug and it still leaked.

Is there any way of repairing this without changing the oil pan? Any sort of thread repair or anything? Please let me know, asap if possible.

    Thanks guys,
    Chris

First thing that comes to mind would be to put some rtv sealant in the threads close to the front of the nut.

Or maybe just make a gasket out of it around the outside of the hole.

    Maybe try some loc-tite too.

I dunno if I would do either in my own car though. The oil filter will pick up any rtv stuff that gets released into the oil, but I would still be a tad paranoid myself.

    Just a thought.
