Is there any way to go past this factory set mark of 118? Thanks.

Seeing as you have a 97 there is about no options for you what so ever. They don't make the HPP3 for 96-97 and Jet Chips doesn't make a chip for our model, unless it's the SCU which will just recalibrate the speedometer. Unless there is some other chip I don't know about we don't have anything!!! Sucks

I've got a question, when you hit the speed limiter can you feel the fuel cut-out?, I know on my S-10 when I hit 95 mph or so, the truck really jerks when it hits the governer. With the Camaro, I get up to 121 mph and it just does'nt go any faster.
121 mph is pretty strange since everyone stands by the 118 mph limit. CAMAROS

I've had my speedo pinned at 115 and was still standing on the gas and it felt like the car kept pulling. I didn't feel any fuel cutout or rev limiter kicking in.
Do all V6's have a speed limiter?94 Firebird, 3.4 V6, Red, M5
SLP CAI, Accel 8mm Superstock Wires, Bosch Platinum +4 Plugs, Borla Exhaust, BMR Strut Tower Brace, 180* Thermostat, B&M Ripper Shifter
http://www.cardomain.com/id/94bird

I'm sure the '93 has a govern for speed (the majority of our new f-body v6's have governs)I have a '95 3.4L model and i've maxed it out a couple of times at about 115. When I hit this speed with the pedal on the floor, i definately feel the gas cut-off (or at least something to stop the acceleration). The car all of a sudden goes into a "coast" type feel and the rpms drop back down to around 3-4 thousand.
Any recommended chips to override the govern (that aren't junk, like many have mentioned in previous posts)? ; as i would like to see what my engine can really do!2001 Camaro Z28 (A4) Sunset Orange Metallic w/ T-tops, Monsoon Stereo, factory GFX, BMR STB from the v6, 18K miles
2001 Camaro Z28

Dads car: 2002 35th aniv. All 4th gen v6's have speed limiters set at 118 mph.
Some people say I hit 119, or 120, or 121, well, your speedo said that but it might be slightly off.
I've seen autotap logs of cars with suposed correct speedo's from the factory and they are off.
How to dissable it??
As of right now on a 1997 there really is no official way to get it done.
I somehow convinces superchips to modifiy my computer and they removed mine.
Superchips will no longer officially reprogram v6 computers
Honestly w/ it removed I don't have much over 125 mph. sure if I turn the bottle on it will go higher but n/a it just doesn't cut it. I haven't tried it with the new motor though.
