ok, i know it's not a button but a light, in the center above the AC (i have a 1997) What's it for??? Mine does nothing, never turns on or anything (yes, i checked and wires run to it). One day I saw the red light of a z28 i was parked next to, and it was blinking. So i just had to ask.

I maybe mistaken but I believe it's the signal that the security features are activated

                Re: the little red botton

because its cheaper to make all the dashes with it then deal with either plugging the whole or even worse, having some made without it and some with the hole. I do not have an alarm but I do have the led. :)

                    Actually its economical and profitable.
GM doesnt have time to make 20+ different versions of a car, just cause of
some stupid small thing like wires.
