I have a snapped header bolt in my aluminum head, the bolt is about an 1/8 of an inch in tried easy outs but no go, would i damage the head at all if i used a mig to build up the bolt tip to get it out? flux core would have to be used and i know it gets hotter than gas, but if i go slow and be patient, can i do it without warping the head or anything?

Re: welding with mig to get header bolt outta head
This is extremely dangerous because you're attempting to weld the bolt head when it's too close to the threads. Not only that, but aluminum threads make it even more risky. There is no possible way I'd recommend that you do that!
I'd say to drill out the bolt and re-tap it with a die kit. If you accidentally weld the aluminum head, you're in for alot bigger worries than you think.sigpic

what engine do you have that has alum. heads? Not a 3.8l or 3.4l unless you did a 3400 swap
