On the way to work this morning I was climbing a couple hills. I was going slow, around 35 MPH, and the torque converter was locked up. The entire way up both hills the car was bucking and surging. Any ideas what this is? My only thought is that it could be the torque converter going bad. It ran perfect except for on the hills, so I don't think it's an engine problem.

Surging on hills

More info...I am confused now. It isn't just on hills. It did it on a flat road too. It surges/jerks when it is in 4th gear and very low engine speed, less than 1800 RPM. If I give it just enough gas to accelerate so it stays in 4th, it starts doing the surging.1999 Y87 Camaro
Whisper Lid, SLP SS Takeoff Exhaust

Yeah, I would say the wires are the culprit... mine went out at about 55k too.
I suggest changing the wires every time you do plugs on our cars... they're relatively cheap ($60 a set for good ones, less for... well, cheaper ones) and our cars love to eat them.http://www.cardomain.com/id/kefkafloyd
Red 1997 Pontiac Firebird 3.8L A4 w/ Y87

Ya, i would deffentially say its your wires. Pobally some kind of arching going on. I would say lower due to you not being in the powerband yet, but if you got WOT your going to feel it like crazy.1999 Pontiac Trans Am M6 Far from stock.....
