  • So My Car Is Throwing A Code

    The code is P1406

I looked it up on a website and this is what it said...

"P1406 Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor circuit Downstream Hose."

Can someone put that in english for me?

        omg
On the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (the EGR)
check to make sure the wire is plugged in right
(might want to take it apart and clean it - requires new gasket)

If it doesnt work buy another or get rid of it all together (which will still set the SES light so you have to get it programmed out of the car's computer)

No. The plunger moves up and down and does NOT get stuck.

Funny, I have the same problem. Whats strange is right before the code started to throw, I started to notice a slight tick (the infamous tick) coming from my engine. Is it possible that the tick is related to the EGR - The P1406 code? I know usually this problem is a sticky lifter, basically im wondering if when i clean it or replace it if this tick will go away - F-Body SS Man - Did you notice any tickin?

Yes I made a block off plate. The EGR is gone. No I noticed no "ticking" The code read (Pintle position circut) w/e the freak that is. I just took it off and will get the car tuned out later. The funny thing was I left the EGR on and had the code erased and everything was fine for a few days and then the same code came back up. I dont inderstand if I deleted it how it came back.
