help!! post here or email me at stonny9@bellsouth.net or aim stonny9

i am installing the gm service and parts manual for the camaro and it says to insert disk 2 I am using the program daemon to create a virtual drive. installed cd1 then it said that i had to install the data to use the program so i loaded cd2 and it started installing the data now it says to "please insert the next disk:2". i tried loading the other "disks" but nothin is working. when i tried loading cd3 it said that there was a zip file named data11 when i tried to unzip it it said the the file was invalid.

I'm a bit confused...

there was a zip file named data11.zip and the install program told you that the file was invalid? If I'm following you, then it sounds like there's a CRC error in your CD3 iso, which means you'll need to re-download it.

You'll have to describe your problem in more detail if I didn't read that correctly.

1) Did CD1 install without problems?
2) Did you mount CD2 in the virtual drive when it prompted you for the next cd? same for CD3?
3) Did you use the same drive letter for all three .iso files? You shouldn't make three virtual drives and mount an iso to each. You should just make one virtual drive and remount each .iso as you go.

Let me know how it goes.

cd1 loaded fine. After i loaded cd1 it said that i needeed to install the data files so i opened up cd2 it never actually told me to insert another cd i just assumed that the install must go in the order of the cd's so i inserted cd2. After about 27% install it said "please insert the next disk:2" and i cant get past that. i used the same virtual drive for every cd. on cd3-data11.zip it also said that the file could be a continuation of a file from another cd or it could be invalid. i have tried all of the cd's two or three times. file sizes downloaded in rar format cd1-33.4mb, cd2-655mb, cd3-650mb, cd4-650, cd5-12.4mb

Judging by the size of those files, I would guess that CD's 2-5 don't need to be installed. It sounds like the whole program installs from CD1, and the program will ask you for a particular CD when you are running the software and make a request for some particular bit of data. I might be mistaken though.

My only other thought is to try enabling the various forms of CD emulation Daemon tools. That might do the trick. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

Plan B is to burn each iso to a CD and install it the old-fashioned way.

Make sure that the virtual drive letter is the same for all the cds. So when it asks for Disk 2 (ie...Disk 3) "eject" Disk 2 and "insert" Disk 3.

Last resort is to extract Disks 2-5 (The data Disks) into 1 folder on the HD and run the install program.

so everything worked? It's installed correctly?

Now that we worked through that. What is it? How does one go about getting a copy?
