well guys i was trying to clean my egr up and the bolt to the egr tube that goes to the exhaust manifold broke off in the manifold.it is too cramped to get a drill in there and not to mention i have never had to tap anything before so i am lost.any suggestion?i tryed jb welding the the thing that holds the pipe down to the manifold(i know,i know ) but it is leaking badly and that is with the vice grips still attached to it.any idea what i can do to fix this?the car is running ruffly and i have a cel.i don't have a checker sorry.i really don't wanna drive to autozone with it leaking like this.any ideas guys?
I doubt it will hold. Most likely blow out. If you can't get at it to drill it out you might have to take the manifold off and then do it. Kind of a pain I know, or try moving some things around that area to get in there with a drill

i got a crappy frill anyways (6.0volt)it gets hung up drilling the the fiberglass in the doors. i wonder if the dealer would charge and arm and leg to do this?
what do you think?
mostly i am scared of breaking a blot off in the head.
you could also try an exhaust shop. Take it in and explain to them what happened. See if they will take the manifold off and drill it out and reinstall it for ya. Or maybe they can get in there as well. Dealers are generally a bad place to go pricewise for work unless you have a warranty

i'll try that out, thanks man.i will let you guys know how it goes.
96 model, also would a small exhaust leak like this make my car idle funny?it drove fine but idle is 800-1000 and bounces slightly.i clean the egr itself,is this a no-no?
Yes, that would make it idle slightly off the norm. And more power to you cleaning the egr, I clean mine all the time and so do a lot of other people. No problem there as long as you leave no residue or use the wrong type of cleaning solvant.
it depends on where the exhaust leak is...
if its anywhere upstream of the stock NB sensors, yes, it will make the o2 sensors read wrong. Now, on the downstream side of the stock NB sensors, I would say its bad to have a leak up to like 9" downstream of the stock NB o2.
2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!
okay so here is the verdict,i took it to autozone.i definetly have a leak i can hear it sputtering around that area and i don't think it is anything else.i have to codes.one is directly related to the egr not sure about the others.
codes are-
P0406-the voltage signal from exhaust gas recirculation sensor "A" is too high for the current engine operating conditions.(related to the egr but what the heck does this mean?)
P0441-the purge flow in the evaporative emission control system is incorrect for the current engine operating conditions.(what does this mean?)
okay i have no clue what this means but i think i need a new egr?anybody know for sure whats going on here?i used just water,q-tips,and a terry towel.i just got the most of it out,i didn't shine it to perfection or anything.i did clean inside of the egr,but i didn't drown it.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
