  • Where is the oil sending unit?

Guy at Midas told me it was leaking, and the car has been leaking oil, so I figured I'd change it.

Haven't the foggiest idea where it is, tho.

Whenever you need to know where a part location is, I always go here if I'm not certain.

      http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBr...n=beginCompLoc

It's autozone's component location and you can even go back a few steps and choose any type of vehicle if you are working on something besides an f-body. I hope this helps in the future of finding a certain part.

Sorry, no component locations were found that matched your search.
        I only did 98 - 2002 though.
It looks like a black tube with 2 very small wires coming out.
Its the width of a roll of quarters, but longer. They have a special tool for it, but its not needed.

That's weird, I just tried as well, and it is saying the same thing. maybe they are having problems with their website or doing some updates. I know it usually works though, because I just go on there just to see if every part is listed, and it usually is.

It really pissed me off the time when I ordered (paid for) Rod bearings from autozone, waited 3-4 days for them to get here and they gave me valve locks.
On the website and in their computer systems in all their stores, they think bearings are valve locks (and vice versa). Moral: dont order critical engine parts from autozone and definately dont ask for advice from sales clerks!

I would have to agree with you there. Especially with the sales clerks that work at the one here in my city. I asked if they had a 3/8" quick disconnect fuel line tool in stock, because I didn't see any on their shelves and they told me (after I drew them a diagram of it and explained what it does) that no such thing exists.

Yea, one of the clerks at Oreillys told me to put red RTV on my head gaskets... (when I was a n00b)
It ran fine (only idled/cruised it)
But I dissassembled it, and took the head gaskets back and got a refund.
They wouldnt re-imburse me on the head bolts though... bastards

drivers side of the oil pan sticking out like a sore thumb, its a plastic white piece which would require like a 40mm socket! Or just a crescent wrench works just fine.
