  • huge drop off in accerleration...

as i began to accelerate as long as i dont let off the gas it is alright, but if i let off the gas between 40-55 mph my car gets real sluggish.. anyone else have this problem? or anyone know how to fix it? i was thinking that maybe it is shifting to earlier, could this be it?

Is it like if your cruising at 40 and then try to accelerate it kinda chugs, like you were in a manual car driving around in the wrong gear?
I had that same dam problem it was my plugs/wire as well an exhaust leak.

it has always done this, even right after new plugs and wires, but yeah it would seem like in a manual in wrong gear, that is why i suggested maybe it is shifting too early..

I think mine does that sometimes, if I accelerate slowly it clicks into Over Drive around 50MPH, sometimes if I'm crusing and dont gas it hard enough to click into 3rd it will chug along for a while.

I'm no expert, but maybe try some fuel injector cleaner or possibly changing the plugs and wires. If you haven't changed the air filter in awhile I suppose it would kill your acceleration. It sounds like a fuel problem to me though. Just some suggestions, hope it helps.
