When i got in the car and turned it on it started shaking and the exhaust sounded weird so i got out and checked i saw my car was blowing alot of WHite white smoke. so i reved it alittle and it got worse. Sounds like a loose upper intake or a leak somewhere in the intake or related components. Check. Upper intake manifold bolts for proper torque, upper intake manifold gasket. Check Lines and fittings that run from the map, fpr and intake and lines from intake and PCV. I just fixed an identical problem on my 93 3.4 and it was a loose upper intake.

I'd say plugs, wires, coil. Something in the ignition is bad. The only way to get fuel that far down stream is if it wasn't burning completely.

Actually a leak in the intake will pull in more fuel into the intake and combustion chambers and leave unburned fuel that manifests itself in the form of the white smoke that smells like fuel out the exhaust. Also, it will cause erratic fuel pressure which contributes to the excessive distribution of fuel into the engine. I know exactly what he is referring to as i just spent 2 weeks chasing down the same problem.

Here is the thread from a few weeks ago while i was troubleshooting this problem.

Also, i've had plugs wires and coils go bad on my 3.4 and none of them put out the white smoke and the gas smell when they go, just the shaking b/c of a misfire.

Mine did the same thing today,, the fuel injecter must have been suck open and was flooding it with gas. I droped a new one in, ran like new again. It smoked for about 30 mins till all the gas was burned out of muffler.

service engine soon light was on. using my scanner i was showing missfire #4, fuel injecter Problem, knock cylinder #4. Thats how i figured which on it was. I talked to lots of people, hi-lo, autozone, every one told me no way for a injector could stick open. they said sometimes they wont open or wont open all the way, but they all could not beleve what they where seeing. I think we all learnd something.

I have an ses light and I know one of the injectors is sticking open due to the flooded condition after the car sit for about 10 minutes after a long drive. I don't have a scanner available on this island that reads a obd1. Any suggestions?

Replace all of them or have them cleaned with seafoam. It may not even be your problem. You sure its gas and not oil?

The smell of raw gas is really strong and the engine will sputter for a few minutes on re-start. If I let it sit for about an hour, it starts and runs fine.
