Which goes to show that the fan temperature "ON" settings are just too high and you should install an SLP fan control switch.
This way you can turn your fans on and off whenever you see fit.

Wow! Those temperatures are sure high. Whatever happened to the old day temps in the 180 heat range. Now I know why head gaskets are getting blown so easily. I have installed a tuggle switch directly from the car battery to bring on the fan whenever I want to. However, I will look into purchasing that fan switch kit from SLP. Due to limited space availability, I'm running a single after market fan. It's a pusher fan which really puts out alot of air. The only problem is it is super loud, which is very annoying. Sound like a turbine! The shop that fabricated the engine harness for my application installed 4 fan relays in the system. Not sure how it suppose to work. Perhaps 2 relays for each of the 2 stock Camaro fans (which I'm not running), not sure. So far, because I have not allowed the engine temp to go up as high as stated in the chart provided by one of you, I really don't know if the fan relay system is working or not. I always turn on the fan when the temperature get's in the 180 heat range. I know that the stock 98 Camaro has 3 fan relays. I think that fan relay #1 is suppose to take care of the low fan speed operations. And I think that fan relays # 1, 2 and 3 work together to take care of the high fan speed operations. I'm not sure if I need both the low and high speed fan operations, does anyone know? I assume that when the ac is turned on, the high speed system operation kicks in, is that correct? What is the technical reason for the two different speed operations in the first place? I really appreciate all of your support. Thank you, Tommy.

If you already have a toggle switch installed to turn your pusher fan on whenever you want, then don't worry about getting the SLP kit. (it's exactly the same thing)
I only mentioned it because some people don't have the tecnnical know-how on how to setup a toggle switch and run it to their fan and make it actually work.
The reason the fan kicks on with low speed I believe is to help warm the car up (I could be wrong thought) and then the other of course is to cool the engine down.
