        in the situation of the picture he posted i suppose a standard wrench would be ok, but most nuts on piping require the box wrench

                            Yeah, what they all said. 'Cept that the wrench you're looking for is a "Line Wrench", not a boxed wrench. The boxed wrench wont go onto a pipe thats already connected, and can't come back off of the pipe if you used it to tighten the fitting. A line wrench is like a boxed wrench, except for a slot cut into the "boxed" part to allow the pipe to pass in and out of the wrench freely, but still get plenty of grip around the full surface of the fitting.
