    1) buy a haynes or chiltons

    disconnect battery
raise the front of the vehicle
    place squarely on jack stands
    e-brake it
    drain oil
remove crossover pipe / hanger bolts
remove the driveplate/flywheel cover and starter
    remove hood
remove the wiring harness clip from the left side of the pan
disconnect the wires from the oil level sensor then the sensor
support the engine from above with a hoist
    remove engine mount through bolts
    carefully remove the pan

                  clearance = gap
I said you have to lift the engine... so to make a Gap, so you have Room to pull the oil pan off. (the K-member is in the way)

yes, clearance. k-member sits really close to the pan and you need to lift the engine to create more space. yes, clearance.

you coudl drop the front suspension and kmember to do it, but from the looks of it, its just easier ot lift the motor.

                        Re: Oil Pan

hey i just put my pan on, lift the motor then as you drop the pan you have to turn it as it is falling. turng counter clock wise. once you get the pan past the cross member, turn it stright and tilt the right side up. that will clear the oil pick up tube.

Anyone ever try using HT sealant around the pan to stop any gasket leaks, instead of replacing the gasket?
