To Replace the oil pan what do you have to do exactly .. i have a 3.4 M5 and my friend who is suppose to do it says it will take longer than a week to do .. he said he has to drop the front end suspension? Why ? Who knows exactly what you have to do? it doesn't have to be in detail just sumthing i could work off

1) buy a haynes or chiltons
disconnect battery
raise the front of the vehicle
place squarely on jack stands
e-brake it
drain oil
remove crossover pipe / hanger bolts
remove the driveplate/flywheel cover and starter
remove hood
remove the wiring harness clip from the left side of the pan
disconnect the wires from the oil level sensor then the sensor
support the engine from above with a hoist
remove engine mount through bolts
carefully remove the pan2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

doesn't mention it in the manual. so, doubtful that it is needed.

clearance = gap
I said you have to lift the engine... so to make a Gap, so you have Room to pull the oil pan off. yes, clearance. k-member sits really close to the pan and you need to lift the engine to create more space. yes, clearance.
