OK,

The story behind the car is I picked it up at a used lot about a month ago. First thing I did is have the engine flushed, oil changed, fuel filter changed and lines flushed.

My next investment is brakes(getting a squeal) and plugs and wires. and here is my question.

Starting up, sometimes it keeps turning over and over until I hit the gas a little. other times it just starts right up on first turnover. Think this is caused by some bad plugs and/ or wires?

The Egr valve is shot aswell, I am working on getting another one from another member, but I don't believer that would be the problem from what I've searched about it.

    Here is my $.02

Plugs and plug wires would not do that. The EGR would probably not do that. What year and model car is it? Which engine?

Are you saying that if you crack the throttle a bit then it fires right up?

Are you getting a check engine light?

is your fuel pump making any noise? Can you hear it run?

whats the idle like? any loop?

if its below 750 you might wanna try messing with the screw that controls the idle, im not exactly sure where it is but im sure someone will know

also maybe your throttle linkage is just sticking and it gets stuck in the wrong spot sometimes, it happens to my old truck, it makes it hard to start. just try some wd-40 (this is only if you have a car that is not drive-by-wire)
K&N air filter, Whisper air lid, magnaflow LT1 cat back, and magnaflow high flow cat, pacesetter headers, silverstars

more to come soon
but for now im out of money

Make sure that your fuel pump is coming on and pushing fuel to the lines. Then make sure that your fuel filter isn't already clogged from trashy gas. Then remove your throttle body and clean the inside of it real nice.

Also, you can even take on a bigger job of cleaning your injectors(but I doubt this is the problem).

Put a block off plate on your EGR before trying to start it up after doing this. Or just take your shot EGR and clean it up real nice with some carb cleaner.

ok, sorry for the late response

My car is a 99. I've had the fuel filter replaced but not sure if the fuel pump is the problem, i haven't had a chance to listen to it. I've taken the egr off once before and clean it out real good, but I don't think that it either, but It is throwing a code that goes off from time to time but comes back on.

Yes it will turn over until I hit the gas a little then it fires right up....maybe the pump going out>?

Definately, and also check your throttle linkage. I'm still not sure that new of a car would be having problems with the fuel pump. My 97 is still on original and has sat for 2 years with the same gas in it and still fires up on first try.
