  • Not an f-body, but...

I juust bought a house, can't even swing the $ for a haynes manual. this site is all i got...
my wife's beater, a 95 gran prix w/a 3.1 won't warm up anymore (needs a thermostat) After popping the hood it looks like i have to remove the exhaust manifold to get to the housing? It's all tucked in under the throttle body and exhaust. is there an easier way?

pretty sure if you take the Tb off you should be able to get at it alot easier. its a tight fit and a pain in the *** no matter what.

I had an Grand Prix with the 2.8 - wich is the same block as the 3.1, just with a different crank and pistons I beleive. It should be right where the upper radiator hoses go into the top of the engine. I remember when I did mine it was really simple. Now that I think about it though, they might have changed the engine in 95 to a newer style intake. I think I read that it was tricky to get the back bolt out, but I know that you don't have to remove the TB.

If you want to do a little more research you can check out the w-body msg board at www.w-body.com.

        Good luck
