my wife's beater, a 95 gran prix w/a 3.1 won't warm up anymore (needs a thermostat) After popping the hood it looks like i have to remove the exhaust manifold to get to the housing? It's all tucked in under the throttle body and exhaust. is there an easier way?
I had an Grand Prix with the 2.8 - wich is the same block as the 3.1, just with a different crank and pistons I beleive. It should be right where the upper radiator hoses go into the top of the engine. I remember when I did mine it was really simple. Now that I think about it though, they might have changed the engine in 95 to a newer style intake. I think I read that it was tricky to get the back bolt out, but I know that you don't have to remove the TB.
If you want to do a little more research you can check out the w-body msg board at www.w-body.com.
Good luck
