What is wrong with my car? Please help

I started my car and was warmed up and it started having a rough idle. Then when i would put it into reverse or drive and let it start moving. It would be extremly rough and when i would give it gas it feels like its misfireing almost and i think it might be my spark plugs that i have replaced recently.(bosch platnum plugs wiht reg 7mm wires.) Or also that i need to service my coil packs because when i changed my plugs they looked as if they had never been changed before so mabey the original owner didnt change the coil packs yet...Through the whole power bandwith it feels sketching and rough and feels like i have lost 25 hp. Can anyone help me out here. I have also put a thing of fuel injection cleaner in my gas tank and put 10 gallons in and still does it.

I bet it is one of your coil packs. Two of my three have now gone out at seperate times and both gave me the same problems that you are talking about. I would get thoes checked out!

There's your problem. Bosch Platinums are probably the WORST plugs you can buy. They make almost anything misfired and run like ****. There are few people who get them and have no problems with them. I had them in my car without knowing it, and reaplaced them with NGK Tr55's. Not saying that the car runs any better, cuz I can't really tell a difference, but it doesn't stutter everyonce in awhile like it used to. Plus, my idle dropped like 100 RPMs. Replaced the plugs, and your problem should be gone :D

Could be mis-gapped plugs. Could be a coil pack. One of my coil packs was acting up, so I replaced all three of them (cheap insurance).

replace your plugs and wires and check your coils...one of the 3 is your problem.

well i have new wires on there so if i just swap out my plugs for some ngk's and then do a service on my coil packs.


How much is that gunna cost to service hte coil pack system? Can i do that myself or am i gunna have to have a mechanic do it?

What are thep arts that i need to service.

another possibility..your platinum plugs basically have platinum tips that can fall off. if that happens, the plugs end up with too much gap.

i had a barely noticable misfire (had to scan my car to realize it was there - it wasn't throwing any codes either). after i changed plugs and wires, it went away.

if you're thinking about servicing your coil pack system yourself, don't touch the budz for at least 8 hours before getting in there - you can shock yourself pretty bad if you're not thinking straight.

ok so today i was about leave for work and drive my car when its misfiring beucase i have no choice. When i went to start my car it didnt do anything when i turned the key. I have a good battery and alternator and it has never done this untill it started constantly misfireing.


I opened up my hood in a act of thinking i would be able to fix the problem. Closed my hood and tried it again and started up fine. Started up again after work.


WHAT IS MY PROBLEM NOW. Misfiring, not starting....can anyone help a brother out?

well it sounds like you have possibly two seperate issues. your antitheft system has a fault somewhere and your other problem. search up on the security system and try to figure out what you need to do.

but does this sound like its a possible coil pack problem? My car did get broken into around a year ago and the window was broken and no alarm went off but it has never had that light showing or anything before. And my car has never had the problem where it doesnt start... just after it started misfiring.

the security system isn't an alarm system. Its called VATS in our cars, and does not cause misfires when activated. also, a faulty coil pack will not cause the VATS system to activate nor should it keep the car from starting. you have two seperate issues.
