• 3.4 Horsepower?

Does the 3.4L really have 160hp at the crank?
I was thinking more along the lines of 140hp...
I have one of those throttle voltage chip things, and one of those tornado things that supposedly gives u better gas mileage (even tho my highway miles dropped from 30 to 20)... anyway, thats all that has been done to the motor... 115hp at the wheels.
I don't see how an auto can lose 45hp through the drive train. I was told 15-18% loss, so from 140 to 115 is almost 18% loss.
160hp or 140?

yep, 160 HP at the crank

throttle voltage chip thing? hmm, get ripped off for a $0.05 resistor?

that tornado is really killing your power

and those 18" wheels ain't helping much

It's just some plug in thing that makes sure there is the maximum voltage above 70% throttle or some junk like that- Yes, a rip off.
So basically you're saying I should have about 132 at the wheels (18% loss off 160hp) and the tornado is taking me down to 115????

edit: This is it, the Casper Electronices TPS TEC Throttle Enhancer: "TPS voltage at Wide-Open Throttle (WOT) is a function of power enrichment (PE). If the voltage is below a certain point at WOT, the ECM will reduce the level of power enrichment and the engine will not perform to its potential. This device is completely transparent until 70% TPS, then it takes over and assures maximum TPS voltage for 100% Power Enrichment (PE) when you need it the most. The TPS TEC also corrects for low sensor voltage and "dead spots"." I consider the tornado a bigger rip off :(

ah, the TPS TEC module
I've never had a high opinion of any of those things, but on the other hand I've never used them.

You have to take into account the mileage and condition of your engine with regard to how much power its putting out.

IMO and many others, the tornado is an overpriced cut up soda can. The principle behind it really only pertains to carb'd engines. You don't want swirled-turbulent air entering a fuel injected engine.

And I was seroius about those heavy-chromed 18" rims.
