    The only way an alternator could drain power from your battery is that the diodes in the alternator were shorted and in that case it would not charge.

      hey dumb question but i cant remember from my last camaro. does the clock on the radio always stay on? i cannot remember for the life of me.

        no. all power should shut of when you open the door and then the lights go out on there own. at least on my 97 and 98
