My mods right now are SLP CAI, TB spacer, msd wires, and i am getting my tsp rumbler and pacesetter headers put on later this week. I am not going to make my next mod gears because my car is an auto and i will have to get the speedo fixed and shift points and i dont want to fool with it right now. I dont think i am going to go with nitrous or not yet anyways. I am thinking about getting the gt stage 1 cam. Is there another mod i should get before this? thanks for the help.

what about a cat or straight pipe for it and a shift kit is good for an auto. did you ever think of doing an tune up? all fluids, filters including fuel filter. and sensors like ur O2 sensors. that will help the performance and gas mileage of your car. noone really ever thinks of it.

I would still recommend gears and posi and correct it with a tune from TSP. Gears really are a big advantage. You will feel a huge change getting rid of the 3.08's. The tune can also give you a lot of the advantages that you get from a shift kit.... from what I have read I would not do the kit, too hard on the tranny.
cam and torque converter are also good options, but again a custom tune will help you get the most out of them.\'01 Mineral Grey SVT Cobra
-former F-body owner

shift kits are hard on the tranny. Count on having to go back into the tranny if you install one. Go with the gear change. If you put the cam in, have some head work done also, at least clean up the ports.95 convertible 3.8 series II

But, if you build the tranny properly, with the proper parts, and only ADJUST the line pressure AS YOU NEED TO, you will have a better, longer lasting transmission.
As to mods, get yourself HP Tuner. It's a stiff $600, but it is the single best investment that you can make in the car, and it will make any other engine, tranny, and other drivetrain mods you do immensely more useful.Wife and a dog, they both think they\'re Kujo.

1999 3.8 A4 Y87
Navy Blue Metallic
BFG G-Force KDWS 275/40/17s,
WS6 Wheels (17x9)
Phoenix Transmissions 2400 Stall Converter
FRA, Holley Powershot filter, Whisper Lid, Ported Throttlebody
2000 manifolds, Flowmaster, WS6 Tail Pipes,
MSD 8.5mm Wires, MSD Coils, Autolite plugs
Performance Cryogenics treated rotors
1LE Sway Bars and panhard rod, 1LE front springs w/SLP Bilsteins, stock rear springs w/ 3rd Gen Bilsteins, BMR STB, KBDD SFCs, 1LE rear lower control arms, 1LE front lower control arms
1968 Chevelle Malibu 327 TH350

So basically i can go to a junkyard and get a 97 pcm and just swap it right in? What all will the hp tuners allow me to do? I am no expert by any means so will i be able to do it? Also does it run on a computer or what?1996 Camaro -- SLP CAI, Motorvator TB spacer, MSD 8.5 mm wires, 180 thermostat, Pacesetter headers, Catco 3 in cat, TSP Rumbler, custom painted interior, 18x9.5 Z06 replica wheels, Nexen N3000 265/35r18 tires, - Best 1/4 mile 15.3@89mph

as long as it is for the same transmission it should swap directly in. its only a 2 connecting the wiring harness to it, and two screws holding the mounting bracket to the car. then just a lot of wiggling to maneuver it out. oh, and the pcm IS the computer for the car.
it will allow you to correct shift points and speedo for tire/ gear changes amongst a lot of other things. go to the TSP thread in the sponsors forum below. they offer tuning using this software and discuss a lot the stuff it can do.\'01 Mineral Grey SVT Cobra
-former F-body owner
