  • Do 97 and 98 camaros have the same engine?

Ok I know this sounds stupid but I jusy bought this supercharger from a guy who has a 97 maro and I have a 98. I assumed the throttle body was different because rksport has 97 and 98 listed as requiring different powerdyne models. I was like no problem Ill order the pipeing from powerdyne like Ironman told me and Ill be fine. But then when checking out the mods encyclapedia I read that they make 2 models of supercharger, one for 95-98 and one for 99-02. I also read the vector article and it said it worked on engines from 95 and a half to 98. So it would seem like they have the exact same engine ...Do they???

basically yes, they both have the 3800 series 2. there are slight differences, mainly in the intake tract. 97 intake curves around and pulls air from the left fender well area, 98+ pulls air from in front of the radiator.
you can\'t get off if you don\'t get on

They are the same. 99+ engines got a different intake manifold so that the TB is straight, not angled down, and have electronic throttle control.
