• A/C Vent Issue

Okay so all the sudden, my A/C and heat stopped coming out of the main vents. It still blows nice and cold out of the dash vent and the vents by the floor, so it can't be the actual a/c.

While I don't know much about how this works, I'm guessing there is some kind of cable damaged between the a/c and the vent adjustment knob, not opening the door for air to come through the main vents.

Anybody ever have this problem, or have any suggestions as to where to look to fix?

It's a vacuum leak or a fualty check valve in the vac line near the AC box under the hood. The default vent for no vacuum is defrost

Its a vacuum leak, there is a little black plastic vacuum valve thats right above your PCM thats broke. Find it, replace it. It's a $3 part from NAPA, and soon as your first one breaks they'll keep breaking every month or so. I always keep a spare one in my car now.

Ive tried taping it down, I guess I should just take it to an A/C Mechanic but Im skeered he's gonna charge me out the *** so I just keep replacing the $3 part

I had the same problem, on the passanger side, below and between the battery and near the head light my vacuum hose broke, must have broke clean off, i found about an 8inch section of it laying there, stuck a nail into it and put a little super glue and tape on it to keep it from ever pulling out. Fixed, this is the sorryest hose ive ever seen in my life, some one needs their A** kicked.
