You do not need a puller to get the crank pulley off the 3.4 it just comes right off, or at worst it might take a rap or two with a mallet.

Crank and alt pulley set will cause voltage to drop below 12v at idle, just something to keep in mind if you run high power stereo or sit at stoplights a lot. You can always go crank-only.

i do have a pretty kick a$$ sound system so you think maybe just go with the least expensive pulley system than?

and you should know at least what the names of the components you're asking about. With the degree you mangled your posts, there could be several interpretations of what you said. "3-way" could refer to the ABS system (3- or 4-channel) or the carrier (2- or 3-series). To add to the confusion, a gear's ratio does not determine it's series. SLP is a performance parts company that carries a plethora of aftermarket parts.

So if you post garbage, be prepared to get garbage back; even that concept should be simple enough for you to follow.

Anyways, so long as the carrier and gear series match, you should have not have to buy a new carrier. Translation, if you have a 3-series carrier, buy 3-series gears...if you have a 2-series carrier, buy 2-series gears.

If you spend a good bit of time sitting at idle then yes, go with just the crank pulley.

???? I have seen many 3.4 guys running pullies with no problems, including a car club buddy at my school. The JET pullies are just fine idling or whatever

                    Re: How many ponies?

Not sure about the Jet but the ASP set will definitely affect the voltage output of your alternator at idle. Went through the drive-through line at the bank last night (headlights on) and by the time I came out the other side I was down to 10.5 volts.

Normally my car isn't sitting that long idling so it's not a big deal to me, I've run the set for several years with no ill effects. But if this is normal for you to do in your car I would either get just the crank pulley (not the crank/alternator pulley set) or invest in a battery charger.

Thanks Funkz, one the first times hearing that.

So yea if you sit in traffic jams a lot it might be an issue.

sometimes the ride to buffalo can be a bit of a traffic jam in the morning.... plus i use a lot of power with my sound system so i'll just go with the crank then, good to know

With all the money you're about to drop on bolt-ons, you could get a 50 shot for the same price and come out with more horsepower.

A 50 shot wont hurt anything.

maybe i can help you as far as 1/4 mile terms. i have a 94 camaro 3.4 5 speed and i am a decent driver and stock all i could run is 17.4. i now have flowmaster 80 series(which sound f****n awesome. intake roller rockers, throttle body bypass, no egr, gutted cat, solid tranny mount,275/40/18 tires, hhi perf wires and plugs, and maybe a few other things and all i shaved was like 2 seconds. i now run a 15.8 cold but i have a prob.when it warms up i run a 16.4 and it runs rich.
cant wait till my lt1 and nitrous.
