    could be the coils. nobody's mentioned those yet. my car was giving me those jerking symptons about a month ago, though mine's a '97 5spd manual, so you could be having problems with the tcc also. but dont rule out the coil packs, i changed mine and my car was back to life without jerking me around. i did hear once that if one coil pack is going bad, the others are probably also. this somehow was my downfall, i had to replace all my coils...yay=\... but it's not hard to replace them.
