  • Temp Gauge Seems to only move slightly

After driving the car for a good 30-40 minutes, the temperature gauge needle only moved slightly above 100.

This isn't my yet car but I'm hopeful (Z28). This was the only thing wrong we could find that was malfunctioning in the car.

So loose connection, bad thermometer, any ideas?

    Stuck open thermostat
    Bad temp sensor
    Bad wiring

Could be anything. Is there any leaking? Did you check the oil after the drive? Antifreeze?

    More details are better.

No leaks, no problems with oil or antifreeze (I did check the oil after the drive).

        what year???
1999+ls1's temp gauge is kinda a dumbing light thats not accurate at all.

1998 ls1's had a more functional temp gauge.

also any mods to the car?? weather temp outside???

If you did it earlier this week then I wouldn't be surprised. My car hasn't been getting up to its normal temp because of the cold weather.

            Thermostat stuck open. Inexpensive repair.
