  • Walbor or Python/Venom???

i am looking to replace my stock pump in my 94 which may be the culprit to my misfire problems, i am planning on boost in the future so i figured i would upgrade to an aftermarket pump, i see that Advance auto sells a python injection pump, i dont know the flow rate or pressure rating on it but its 200 from them, the other choice is a walbro 255 lph, the only problem is where do i get one that has an install kit for my 3.4, i dont mind modifing the wiring if there are instructions involved, plug and play would be preferable however, so let me know what you guys are running and where i can get kits, thanx for the help in advance :)

where did you get it from, i know u have a 97 but the pump and tanks are basically the same as the 94's correct, also was it a plug and play deal or is there wiring needed to complete the swap?

zzperformance.com under the grand prix section, universal pump not the 3800 specific as that is the gp version. It was a direct plug and play for my 97

i looked on their site and saw they sell a alterantor rewire kit since the walbro draws more current, did you do this on your car or did you just replace the pump and leave it at that, any reliability issues with these pumps, thanx for all the help so far

funny thing is that I was the beta tester for that alternator rewire kit. I live 10 minutes away and they used my car for fitment. :)

It is not needed at all for when you upgrade the fuel pump. It just helps if you have a big system or electronics that are taking more power. Reduces the resistance in the line. No hp gains are had from it at all.

I heard of a problem with the standard walbro pumps running your car out of gas when you have a few gallons left in the tank. This might just be a 99+ problem though. as there is a GP over at ftv6.com for a 99+ modified walbro pump to address this problem. anyone here know the issure on these?

the 99+ cars came with a bigger plastic fuel tank. Supposedly they are deeper than the pre 99 metal ones.
