My car leans about one inch lower on that passanger side. Also when i put say 50 pounds in the back it begins to squat and looks like a low ride..lol...best way i can put it. Could my shocks be bad, or what kinds of shocks could i use to raise the car a little bit. I know it sounds strange but i would like to be able to haul 50 pounds with out it going down so much. Thanks

Well... I'm pretty sure on most f-bodies that it sits a bit higher on the drivers side, so it evens out with a driver in it. But your case sounds a little more serious. Only 50 lbs. makes your car low, how low are you talking?Black \'94 Trans Am A4- SLP CAI & Loudmouth
Red \'93 Firebird A4- Ram Air under the WS6 hood, !cat, exhaust.

Well, when i say 50 pounds sagging the car i mean 50 pounds in the back, not in the middle, when its in the middle its between front and back, and i have no problem, i know it sounds crazy but its true.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2245261 Green 1997, 105k, all stock except for Z28 front springs, Air shocks in the rear, home made coolant recovery tank, home made battery hold down.

your shocks are what? 7 years old alomst. odds are their shot. from what ive read stock shock are pretty much dead at around 30-40k. belstein makes great shocks, KYB are good too. and im sure they will raise the car a little. not sure how much though. maybe almost a 1/2 inch if your shocks are really dead.1998 bright red camaro ,M5 ,Y87 ,stock

Originally posted by Rune:
If it smells like a turd and looks like a turd, chances are its probably not a candy bar.

Dr Todd is right. First check to make sure that nothing is bent under the car. If everything checks out and one spring is more compressed than the other it is time for new springs.
Shocks are NOT supports for the car. Shocks provide dampening for uneven road surfaces. If anyone wishes to doubt me, purchase a set of brand new shocks for your car. Get under the car, remove the springs and install the shocks. I can guarantee you that when you put the car back on the ground that it would sink faster than the Titanic until the shocks bottomed out. If you don't want to go that route, simply look at people who lower their cars. Before aftermarket shocks and springs were available, a cheap way to get your car lower was to cut a coil or two off of the springs.
Like I said, Dr Todd was right. If the car is sitting level, the rear isn't bent and the undercarriage is straight you have a weak spring.
