Probably what happened... Man I saw a guy with a Mustang (he dropped a V8 in it) who lit his headers up to a bright red glow after egging on it for a minute so trust me they DO get hot!...
His smoked for like 15 minutes when he dropped oil on it once...1997 Camaro RS W/T-Tops
All Stock / 200 HP

i do want to point out that when my headers were new, they did smoke alittle...kinda as if they were breaking in. ;) kinda burny off the excess BS on the headers like oil from people hands and what not.

One time when my car was misfiring as a result of a faulty computer my passenger side manifold got glowing red hot. I think it might be a reaction from fuel getting dumped into the exhaust possibly... not sure though.Newfoundlands Camaro & Firebird Enthusiast Site
www.nf-fbody.com
