about 4 months ago my car was misfiring bad and the ses light came on. i took it to advanced auto and got it scanned and it said misfire on cylinder 4 and something about an O2 sensor. i bought new plugs and wires for it and put those on. after that the car ran really good with no problems whatsoever. then i hopped in it the other day and here it went again misfiring. so it ran good for 4 months then just all of a sudden decides to start misfiring again. it seems like it may be even worse now and the engine light doesnt come on unless i stay on it and it misfires like crazy then it starts blinking. the misfiring problem is getting really annoying. what can i do bout this? i would appreciate any help.

Re: misfiring problem
I had the same problem. I had two cylinders out though. About 4 months later just like yours it started doing it again. It was some coils. I can't remember specifics on which ones or whatever, but I know that's what it was. I think I replaced two.1999 Bright Red A4 3.8L V6 Camaro

Re: misfiring problem
i just posted about my misfire problem.. see the thread in this section titled "misfire p0305"
Replaced plugs and wires (which i needed to do anyways, previous owner had platinum 4's in it...)
Checked the coils, turned out the 2/5 cylinder coil was shot. Replaced it and havent had any problems yet. Easy fix, its worth checking out.

Re: misfiring problem
Same here, Miss fire on coil 2/5. I also had the Ignition Control Module [what the coils sit on] replaced too. I'm not sure if it was really bad so when i was told the coil and ICM went i asked for the old parts from the shop. Anyone know how to diagnose the ICM?1968 350 PG SC<br />1998 3800II M5

Re: misfiring problem
The weird thing is that I got mine scanned at an auto parts store too and they told me an o2 sensor. Well I went to the dealership and they replaced my coil or some coils. I still haven't replaced the o2 sensor they said needed replaced and it ran fine before I left. No codes or anything.1999 Bright Red A4 3.8L V6 Camaro

Im pretty sure that misfires can cause a code for an o2 sensor. My dads threw a p0305 for the misfire and a p0133 for the o2 sensor. Replaced the coil on the 5th cylinder (he has coil-over-plug ignition) and everythings been fine since.
