  • 3.8 rev limiter question

    I went to take a look at a Camaro 3.8 1998. When I reved the engine in parking it only reved to 4,000 rpms, is this normal?

    Yes, it will only rev so high when not under a load.

      yes it is. You need hptuners to tune that to a higher rpm

        you really dont wanan rev higher than 4,000 rpms in park anways.

          I find I get horrible gas mileage in park.

            Say hello to the Park rev. limiter...it'll only go that high when the car is out of gear. The regular one is substantially higher

                same thing happens at 120ish lol... thats unless you get a tune... be nice to your engine when not in park... thats why the rev limiter is there
