Light under A4 shifter....

The light that is under the gear selector only comes on about half the time with the head lights come on. I am fairly sure that the bulb is just loose or there may be a bad connection under the console. This is very frustrating at nite when I cannnot see what gear I am in. :(

Has anyone had to replace this bulb...?? Seems like it may be a lot of work just for a light....??

Yea you gotta remove the center console I BELIEVE
my boyfriend did it for me once......

mines been off for over a year now, I'm just too lazy to change it, I'm used to it by now [img]tongue.gif[/img] if you figure it out let us know

I've never looked to see if there was a light. I can usually shift to the different gears just by feel.

I had to replace mine but the shifter plate was loose so I just lifted it and replaced the bulb I do not know how hard it is to remove just the shifter plate but it is worth a look.
