    Re: Can sitting seafoam hurt?

Used the same process and killed my 3800, let her sit a bit, and the starter wont even turn the car over!

i have pulled the front two plugs, one was damp, but could it somehow filled a cylinder or something?

I tried jumping the car off, no dice.

Anyone else ever Seafoamed and their car would not start?

Is there a kill switch or something I have tripped off? A ny elec stuff?!?! I dont see how...

    Yhanks!

pull all your plugs you've probably hyrolocked the motor. Was the motor good and hot when you did the seafoam like it should be?

Engine was warm but it is really cold here. She sat two days since the starter wouldnt turn her over. I bumped it off, and all hell broke loose...

I got the motor started to alot of racket but just figured it was lots of carbon, since the PO had never Seafoamed. And soon after I drove her a mile, I noticed i had a small fire under the hood.
Stopped and borrowed a guys extinguisher, and a pool of oil from the passenger side of the engine was on the street.
I limped home to a loud knocking sound to my house just up the street, and as I was turning off the engine, I notice the check gages lite, and i had no oil pressure.
It stopped leaking oil after the car stopped, and there is still some on the dipstick.
It is dark here now and all I could see was some wire insulation hanging down.

I have seafoamed my other cars many times and never had problems.
The car likely was not good and hot.
Where could all that oil come from? I mean it was pouring out! Could a hydro lock have broken internal engine parts? The loud knock never really went away.
I am almost afraid to go look under there tomorrow. ive never felt so bad about a car of mine, even after wrecking one. The smell of that burning oil filled the interior and i am nausious, so I am hitting the rack.

I just did seafoam today, only problem i had was that it took two trys to get it started back up after sitting for the 5-10 min. Smoked up really good, good thing it was windy out today.

          SEAFOAM FTW!!

find the leak and this could be a good thing. The leak may have been minor and the seafoam caused it to flush out allowing you to know you have an oil problem. Otherwise, you may have found out somewhere else on the road. Let us know how it goes and good luck

                Re: Can sitting seafoam hurt?

Thanks. True, could be helping pre-empt something worse. I could have done without the oil fire, but as long as the main engine internals and big end are okay, it could be worse. Sure wish I'd pulled all 6 plugs first; tough lesson if that was my mistake!
Tonite I'll drain the oil and pull the plugs, and do a damage assessment. More later on and I appreciate any advice...

                Here is what I fear:
