    3.4 cooling system help (fans, radiator question)

    Hi guys first post for me.

    I'm looking to find out if the V6 cars had a smaller radiator than the V8 cars.

    Also did the older 3.4's (or LT1 years 3.8's) have a single electric fan W/ shroud?

    Any help you guys can give me is MUCH apreciated.
    Strano hollow bars, 315\'s, S/P engine build, T2R diff, etc, etc.

    the v8 radiator is different than the v6. I am pretty sure it is bigger by 1 core. Not sure on the fans, I have a 97 firebird..was a 3.8 v6..now an lt1, and i am pretty sure it has 3 fans

      ha...2 fans i mean...wrong button. I am currently waining on an exhaust for the car so I can't confirm til tomorrow bout the double fan thing.

        My 3.4L has one fan(which went out recently, just needed to replace the motor, about $20 and half an hour). LT1 radiators are bigger and have dual fans.

        I think the 3.8L cars came with 2 fans almost always, but I'm not sure that goes for the first couple of years.

          i have a question on top of this, would the lt1 radiator be a close drop in for the 3.4?

            Tell you what.
            If your radiator is in good condition, and the fan works I may be intersested in some sort of a swap.

            Could someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE weigh a 3.4 fan assymbly. I would be greatly in-debted!

              One other question. Anyone know the CFM of a 3.4 single fan?

              Sorry about the goofy questions. The car I compete with (autox) might get better by raiding the GM parts bin.
