Or, what happens when you don't bother changing plugs.

Aside from some Taylor wires, my ignition is bone stock. About 65,000 miles ago I threw in a set of the NGK V-power plugs (not platinum, the regular ones).

Countless autocrosses, track days, and whatnot (probably 30 solid hours of full-throttle racing), I decide to finally change the plugs.

Remember that .060" gap that I put them in with? Well, they were around 0.075" now. The v-groove in the center electrode had worn completely off, with some more erosion on the side electrode. Aside from that, the plugs actually looked pretty decent.

Even with a gap that bag, never had any misfires, car ran great, and all that. Go Go GM Ignition!

i would imagine that lack of spark could have/ probably did some damage to the cylinders.

Never had any misfire or no-fire, everything was great for both driveability and logged in HPTuners..
