not sure where i should put this, mods feel free to move if need be.

the problem is with my dads buick century, the headlights wont come on now. the whole thing started when he came home, shut the car off and noticed the headlights went right off. they shouldnt have, you either have to shut them off maunally with the nob, or wait the 45 seconds for them to shut themselves off.

he started it back up and now they wont come on.

    turn signals work
    all bulbs are good
high beams work, but you have to hold it up( like if you flash your light at someone, but hold it there )
    all fuses are good.

we're both stumped and have no idea what to try next.

    Re: headlight issue

most likely the entire switch is bad.... b/c there isnt that much stuff involved with it.... bulb.- wire- fuse box- switch- dimmer- complete the circuit.....ppl come in to work all the time with the same prob ( Advanced Auto).... Usually the switch......I thought of it as soon as u said the high beams work but u have to hold it..

the switch works to dim the inteiror lights ( dash ect )

we were starting to think it was the sensor that tells if its dark anough for the headlights. but the switch seems for logical.

      thanks alot.
